AP – Counseling Intensive Comes to an End

Well Praise God, we made it through.  It was a real blessing to be a part of this counseling intensive.  It is amazing to see God’s redemptive work happen right before your eyes.  Many hearts were softened, some were broken, and God’s grace was poured out for many.

From childhood abuse victims, to rape victims, to pride issues, demonic attack, pornography addictions, drug addictions, self addictions…God met everyone of these head on with the Cross.  Gospel centered counseling is so powerful.

For me personally, I was able to share, for the first time, some of my fears; lies that the enemy had been whispering to me for many, many years.  Lies about who I was, who I am and who I am becoming.  But the truth of scriptures came in and shattered  every one of them.  Truly I am, and you are, a new creation if you are in Christ (2 Cor 5:17).  You can read about the redemption I personally experienced on my post: Redemption Experienced.

Many tears flowed this week.  Dealing with sin is never easy, and is never fun.  But neither was the Cross for Jesus, which he despising the shame, endured it for the joy set before him  (Heb 12:2).  I believe we experienced some of that joy this week.  The joy of being redeemed, the joy of receiving His grace, the joy of the Holy Spirit working.

I am reminded of Rev 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
