How did I get here?

I joined the Navy in July of 1999, spent 10 years in the Navy and ended up stationed near Seattle, Wa.  I arrived in the area in February of 2006 and began to explore Christianity.  Four months later I gave my life to Christ.  What started as a spark in February has spread like a wildfire.  The gospel has a way of doing that.

I spent the next three years growing in faith and trudging through my Naval Career.  Some of those underways on the submarine were the hardest and most challenging times of my life.  But they were also the times that I learned most how to rely on God alone.  The Word of God never was so alive and meaningful as those times when I was struggling most.

I began attending Mars Hill Church in March of 2007.  In January of 2009, after many months of prayer and counsel I felt the confirmed to leave the Navy and pursue full time Ministry.   At Mars Hill, I learned about the Acts 29 Network for Church Planters and the possibility of doing internships at the church.

I felt my path was laid before me. From January until October of 2009 I began saving money to support doing an unpaid internship.  Once I separated from the Navy in October of 2009, I began that internship at the Downtown Campus of Mars Hill Church.
In April of 2010 I got accepted to Great Commission Ministries to begin serving as a missionary in Downtown Seattle with Mars Hill Church.  I June of 2010 I began building a team of support, by God’s grace.  If interested in joining the team please see (How can you Help?).

Elise and I got engaged on March 6, 2010 and are getting married on September 18, 2010.  We are so excited to be married!

My life has been a story of redemption and the restoration of the broken pieces of my life.
